Deborah Boothe

Deborah G. Boothe teaches Upper School science at the Academy.  Her classes include:  7th Grade Life Science, 8th Grade Environmental Science, 9th Grade Biology, and 12th Grade Human Anatomy & Physiology.  She grew up in Huntsville, AL.  Mrs. Boothe has a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She also has a Master’s degree in Biology Education from Alabama A & M University.  Prior to joining the Academy in 2012, Deborah taught for eight years at Lee High School in Huntsville.  She also served as an Academy substitute teacher for several years.  She and her husband, Adam, (who were high school sweethearts) are the parents of two children. They are members of cornerstone Presbyterian Church, where they are active in teaching Sunday school and with other groups in the church.  In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, vacationing, and spending time with family.  Her favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9.  A fun fact Mrs. Boothe wants to share: she comes from a big family—she has 10 brothers and sisters!
